“On two consecutive pages amidst the others in a catalogue the same portrait has different identifying captions: one picture is of Stefano Boccalini, the other of Mario Bottinelli Montandon. The two artists begin collaboration in 1995 with precise aims and characteristics, and the very condition of working in collaboration immediately becomes a ‘work’. Photographs of the two are overlaid and electronically morphed to form a single portrait.”
